The GadgetHigh App Store Pick of the Week is a weekly series of posts where we talk about an app for iDevices that we just can’t put down. This weeks app takes me back a few years, it’s ludias take on the Where’s Waldo book series.
By my estimates the game contains approximately 15 worlds that have between 1 and 4 missions per world which allow for a quite extensive gaming experience. I have made it through about 2/3 of the game and I really haven’t gotten tired of it. Each mission has you finding roughly 10-15 things to find which are different for every level but generally start with finding Waldo, Wanda, and the Wizard. The rest of the items to find generally fit the theme of the maps which range from an all out war between trees and mud people to a congested underwater level. There is no standard timer but instead it has 5 stars and depending on how quickly you finish the level you receive more stars. Only getting 3 stars or more allows you to advance to the next mission, but past missions can always be replayed to add to your total star count.
I don’t know how old the Where’s Waldo book series is, but it was still prevalent when I was in elementary school so this should be a fun purchase for anyone who ever read the books. At only $2.99 it’s a snap decision if you fit into that category. Stay tuned for next weeks app store pick of the week.
